Characters will engage you from your first meeting with them. Beautifully written novel that you don’t want to put down, but you also don’t want to end! Such a testament to the power of forgiveness, of family, of strength in weakness….LOVED it! Can’t wait for Carey’s next amazing book!

After the Snow Falls isn’t the kind of book I normally pick up, but I am glad I did. You do an amazing job of creating characters who live in the story and a storyline that spills over with truth, even when we might prefer a patina of comfort. Congratulations on your book! A job very well done. It is a page turner or a button pusher (not sure what the new terminology should be as we participate in the digital revolution).

I am a little like Alfie. He is handier than I am. And he is more internally motivated to activity. But he has come to a point in his life when he wants to change, to give up some self-destructive ways, to make amends with people he has harmed, and to contribute something positive to his family. I appreciate his quiet determination in the face of resistance to his efforts. It is a quality I want to embrace. I think if I lived in the same community as Alfie, I would enjoy meeting him for coffee at the corner cafe.
